In this study the observed frequency of hepatotoxic side effect for the patlents who have received rifampicin, and its corelance to the dose of fampicin In group A. and 900 mg/day in other group. The hepatotoxic side picin in group A. and 900 mg/day • in other group. The hepatotoxic side effect rate has been Cound as % 14.3 Cor the patients who were treated with 600 mg/day rifampicin, on the other hand this ratio has been found as % 75.0 for the group who were treated with 900 mg/day it is clear that; there is a significant difference between this two ratlions (P< 0.05).
The patients with hepatoroxic side effect In both groups has been examined according to the results of biochemical analyses. By the way separating the cases into two groups as the enhancement of toxic hepatit and transient transaminase rise. In both two groups of patient the ratio of toxic hepatitls has been compared. These ratios are % 70.1 for the group who has received 600 mg/day rifampicin, and % 80.0 for the group who has recelved 900 mg/day rifampicin. The difference between these two ratios was not significant (P > 0.05).
This study indicates that, using 900 mg/day rifampicin enhances the risk of toxic hepatitis. Therefore this enhancement must be considered and it must be determined that which dose Is more convenient for the patient using high dose of rifampicin.
